With NeoGuardian offering such a complete range of computer monitoring features it can become quite difficult to find the time required to monitor all the data which NeoGuardian records.
Your time is valuable and between running a household and juggling work obligations there is little time left to sift through screen captures or read through chat history, especially if your family spends a lot of time using the computer.
To make your life as a parent a little easier, NeoGuardian comes with an integrated alert system which can be configured during the set up and installation process and altered at any stage as you discover further websites or key words you wish to monitor.
NeoGuardian has a comprehensive yet simple setup in which you have the ability to choose what web sites are blocked and what keywords are inappropriate for your children to use whilst online.
When your child attempts to visit a website that is blocked or type a keyword in that you have listed to be inappropriate, it sends an alert to your NeoGuardian account. All of these alerts are then documented and saved in the NeoGuardian Alert module giving you a direct summary of your child’s inappropriate computer activity as soon as you log in to your account.
The alerts will show;
- What part of NeoGuardian generated the alert.
- What type of alert it is.
- What the alert was for.
This way, you can easily see what parts of the internet your children were trying to access and fell within the parameters of areas you are wishing to monitor. From here you can easily investigate within what context these sites were accessed or these words were entered into the computer and then communicate with your child appropriately about their actions.
The software can be configured to send an instant notification to your mobile phone or email account informing you that there has been a new alert generated and prompting you to visit your NeoGuardian account so as to investigate further.
Whilst the Alert feature is a quick summary of the inappropriate web sites and keywords your family may have used, it is also a tool in allowing you to be aware of the situation and provide you with a chance to encourage communication and internet safety education within your family.
You should not rely solely upon the Alert Feature in monitoring your child’s computer activity.
There will be cases where the child may visit a website with inappropriate content or discuss things during a chat conversation they shouldn't that the alert feature does not pick up. This will be due to you not having yet entered these details into the monitoring section of the software, or the child may be using abbreviated or slang language which is also not monitored. Through using the Alert System and doing further monitoring yourself you will find other areas that need to be monitored and from there you can add this information into to the settings and ensure you have maximum possible monitoring coverage.
